Phil from the Finland for Thought reacted in his blog about the new bill presented before the Finnish parliament on last Wednesday. The bill envisages a ban on the sale of incandescent light bulbs. Phil writes:

Welfare Statists are always so quick ban things they don’t like. It’s a simple-minded solution to a complex issue that takes away our smallest freedoms without really educating the public about something as serious as the environment.

I heard recently that some of the alternative – energy-saving fluorescents may cause mercury disposal hazards, so be careful when buying your new bulbs!

  1. Hi everyone!
I´m an Export Manager at Climar Company.
I will be in Helsinki next week and I`m trying to find any important distributers/dealers in all kind of Lighting Equipment.
If you know some important companies that I could visit, I would be very pleased.
    Best regards,
    Alex
