This is a gorgeous hand painted studio pottery bowl from the Arabia Porcelain Factory. The ARA line was conceived by Kurt Ekholm in the 1940s and is a rare find due to smaller production runs and hand painted designs.
“Kurt Wilhelm Ekholm (1907 Helsinki – 1975 Gothenburg) was a Finnish-born ceramic artist. He was the artistic director of the Arabia Porcelain Factory from 1932 to 1948, the teacher of the Göteborg School of Art and Design in 1948-1962 and the Rector of the School in 1950-1966. His production of stoneware as a material was simple in shape.” – Wikipedia
